Welcome to Mývatn and to Sel - Hotel Mývatn.
The history of the hotel goes back to 1973, when Sigrún Jóhannsdóttir and Kristján Yngvason opened a shop and restaurant in Skútustaðir which they called Sel. In 2000 a hotel was opened with 35 rooms, all with private bath, telephone, radio, and TV. It is also possible to connect a computer to the Internet in each room.
The hotel is well equipped for all kinds of guests -- individuals and groups, leisure and business travelers -- both in terms of the hotel's own facilities and the recreational possibilities in the Mývatn area. In particular, the hotel is especially well placed for organizing meetings and conferences for groups both big and small.
